PRESS RELEASE FOR KYLE SCHEUERMAN

(Somerset, NJ) – On Friday, July 31 2015 at approximately 21:40 hours, Kyle Scheuerman left the Millstone Valley Fire Department on a motorcycle.  After not returning within a few minutes, several members began a local search for him until the early morning hours of August 1, 2015.  As the search resumed in the later morning of the 1st, we received notification that a single motorcyclist was found down on Millstone River Rd.  This motorcyclist was later identified as missing firefighter Kyle Scheuerman.

Our department would like to express our sincere gratitude for all those that have reached out to us and the Scheuerman family during this difficult time.  As we prepare to remember Kyle, we’re providing the service details below for all those who would like to join us.  I have also identified several areas that we could use some assistance.  If anyone can provide assistance in these areas, or require more information, please contact me.

Viewing – Thursday August 6, 2015 from 16:00 to 20:00 @ Gleason Funeral Home 1360 Hamilton St, Somerset, NJ 08873 with Fire Department service at 19:45

Funeral Services – Friday August 7, 2015 10:00 @ St. Joseph’s Parish Center 34 Yorktown Road Hillsborough, NJ 08844

Committal Services – Immediately following funeral services @ Franklin Memorial Park 1800 State Route 27, North Brunswick, NJ 08902

Repast – Immediately following committal services @ St. Joseph’s Parish Center 34 Yorktown Road Hillsborough, NJ 08844

 

Fire Department Assistance needed;

Our department will be posting guard during the entire viewing times.  Help is needed at any time during those hours.  Each guard will be a 15 minute detail.

The family has requested a Fire Department procession from the church to the memorial park.  Please advise if your department will participate and how many apparatus you expect to attend.

Our department will begin preparation of our apparatus and station for the funeral services on Tuesday 8/4 at 1900hrs any assistance with the tasks would be greatly appreciated.

I’m looking for companies to standby in our station on Thursday and Friday, times are TBD.
